What does the District do?

The purpose of the International Management District is to enhance the physical, social and economic wellbeing of the community. The District is empowered to finance projects related to public safety, mobility and transportation, environmental and urban design, and business and economic development. 

What is the Livable Centers Program? 

The Houston-Galveston Area Council’s (H-GAC) Livable Centers program works with local communities to identify specific recommendations that can help spark the creation of Livable Centers. 


What is a Livable Center Study? 

A Livable Center Study analyzes the existing community and recommends context sensitive solutions to create places where people can live, work, and play with less reliance on their cars. Livable Centers, with concentrations of residential and employment, support more trips by foot, bicycle, transit, or carpool. 

How long is the study process? 

The study process is a nine to ten-month process and will be completed in August 2019. 

How can I be involved? 

By attending public meetings and events and providing feedback about the future of the International Management District.
